I enjoy reading reviews as well as writing them. I especially love entering the giveaways as much as our readers do. Many times one of the entry requirements is to blog about the review. As much as I would love to blog about every one of them I don't know that our readers want to get a new post every time I enter a giveaway so I have decided to create this one post that I will dedicate to all the giveaways that I enter. I take my showers in the morning. And I live in SW Colorado so it is very COLD in the morning. Yes, I am guilty of turning on the shower then running to do little errands while the water heats up. And yes, I sometimes get side-tracked and don't get back to my shower until at least several minutes after the hot water finally begins to run. So I know I am wasting hot water by not using the Evolve Shower Head which automatically stops the flow of water when the water reaches 95 degrees. I know I waste lots of hot water every morning by letting it just run down the drain as I get lost in a few innocent moments of quicky errands. Lovely Baby Christmas CD's ~ Not your Typical Baby Music!

We recently had the great pleasure of listening to Lovely Baby CD's "Baby Christmas CD's" and boy were we pleasantly surprised! Usually 'baby' music is nothing more than regular songs & music that is slowed down or with a baby-like sounds that actually irritates us adults, therefore we don't play it much, if at all. That was certainly not the case with Baby Christmas CD's.

When the CD's arrived I popped one in the CD player at my baby store with my 11 month old grandson by my side. He immediately looked at the CD player with surprise and started dancing. The real baby cooing and talking sounds as well as baby rattles & toys incorporated into the music was so entertaining. I played the CD all the way through and was disappointed when it ended. I popped the Baby Christmas 2 CD in the player and found many of the same songs that was on the first CD but with some changes that made them seem totally new. I continued to play them in my store all day long and received many compliments from my customers while they were shopping.

I made a copy of the two CD's and gave one to each of our Mommies. Here is what they each thought about the Baby Christmas CD's.

Katy, mother of two:
Got to love the holidays! Since this is my first year with two young children, it needs to be a special one. Big Christmas tree, lights, a ton of decorations and not to forget the Christmas music. When Anna asked me to review the Baby Christmas CD's I was a little skeptical. I find that most children's CD's are so slow and rather boring and my kids don't pay much attention to them. When I went to pick up the CDs, Anna gave us a little preview. My daughter instantly started dancing so I thought it was worth a shot. When we got home the first thing I did was pop in the CD. My almost 2 year old daughter "K" was so happy, dancing around to the music and my baby boy "T" was so calm listening to the giggles and rattles. The CD features songs like Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, Jingle Bells, and Silent Night that all have fun little “baby noises” like giggles, and goo's. Some of the songs have water sounds that really got "K's" attention.

I recently had the opportunity to review the Baby Christmas CD 1 & 2 by award winning composer Raimond Lap. At first I though this would be just another Christmas CD, not real excited, but then I played them and was blown away at how cute they were. My 1 year old son, and 3 year old daughter love dancing to this music. At times the sounds are so real my son looks at the stereo speakers as if he is looking for the other baby is.

I love listening to these Christmas songs with their new baby inspired twist. My kids dance to every song on both CDs, doesn't matter to them whether it is a slow or fast paced song. I would recommend these geared-towards-baby cds to any parent. Whether my kids are awake dancing or sleeping peacefully they thoroughly enjoy this music. I think they would be perfect gifts for babies and children off all ages for the holidays or anytime.

One of the greatest things about Christmas is the music. My children love to sing and dance, so when I was given the Raimond Lap Baby Christmas CDs I was ecstatic. When I play the discs for my children they loved that it had on all of our old favorites.

My 10 month old daughter "B" loved it a lot. She would shake her head, smiling and laughing along with all of the baby sounds. The baby sounds in the background are a great way to attract the baby's attention! It is so cute to see how happy the Baby CD's make her. My 5 year old liked the CD's too. She would also dance along with "B". My husband and I even enjoy listening to the CD's, we think the baby sounds on the discs are very cute. It was great knowing that not only was it fun for my kids but also educational, and stimulating. We will definitely be listening to these baby CDs for years to come.

Beauté de Maman ~ Nipple Gel Review & Giveaway

Recently I was contacted by a representative of Beauté de Maman interested in our mommies doing a review of their products. She told me that Beauté de Maman is a new line of products that are obstetcrician-dveloped and all natural for pregnant and new moms. And that the products have been clinically tested, patient tested and are superior to the current products out in the marketplace -but at an affordable price. She said it is a line that Dr. Michele Brown developed because she has delivered over 3000 babies and has heard from Moms what they need and want -products that are SAFE, affordable and effective!!!

Beauté de Maman has a a number of wonderful products, from herbal supplements for pregnancy related nausea, to facial scrub and even gift sets for pregnant women. One of our Guest Reviewers, Jackie, who is a mother of a 3 year old and a new baby, agreed to test the Beauté de Maman Nipple Gel.

Here is Jackies's review:

For all the nursing moms out there, relief has arrived. It’s called Beauté de Maman Nipple Gel. It is a lanolin free healing ointment that is made from plant based ingredients. It is very beautifully packaged in a BPA free tube and almost feels as though it should be in a fancy baby boutique. It is a 100% natural product that was developed by Michele D. Brown an Obstetrician with over 25 years of practice.

I was oblivious, as I’m sure many are, that there was an alternative to the 100% Lanolin they give you in the hospital to help heal dry, cracked, and traumatized nipples. Until I tried this product, I had no problems with using Lanolin. Then I read a little about this product and a few others including pure Lanolin and I found a few surprising things. Lanolin comes from the sebaceous glands of sheep, what is surprising is how it

is extracted and what else may be in Lanolin that alarms me. Many sheep in the United States and other countries are often “drenched” or “dipped” with a chemical that keeps away parasites. This chemical can stay embedded in the wool and its oils including the Lanolin. This concerns me. What also concerns me is how most lanolin is obtained. First the sheep is shorn, and then the wool is sent to a chemical scouring bath to separate the Lanolin, dirt, sweat and other products from the wool, it is then concentrated and either modified for creams, ointments and cosmetics or unmodified to be used as an anti-corrosive and rust-proofing agent. This sounds harmless but a study was done that found traces of the chemicals that were put onto the wool to prevent parasites in modified Lanolin. They say that Lanolin need not be removed prior to feeding your infant, but if there are chemicals, even trace amounts, I really don’t want my baby ingesting it.

The other downfalls of Lanolin are that some women are allergic, Beauté de Maman Nipple Gel does no

t contain any Lanolin, and so for those women who are allergic to Lanolin, here is your product.

Also, Lanolin is very sticky, Beauté de Maman Nipple Gel is as it says a gel and so it is a lighter product. Lanolin, because it is sticky and greasy can actually cause your delicate already traumatized skin from your nipples to stick to your shirt/bra/nursing pads and be ripped off when removing the article to nurse further traumatizing your nipples. This happened to me and caused me to bleed worse. The nipple gel is not greasy at all and I never had a problem with it causing my skin to stick to anything.

In my experience with Lanolin, I was told that it would “heal” or at least “promote in healing” my cracked, traumatized nipples, but to no avail. All it ever did for me was create a sticky greasy mess which was then transferred to Gavin’s face which started a rash, so I had to find a cloth to clean it off, and I had to use soap instead of just water because Lanolin is water proof and is like trying to wash butter off your hands in cold water, this created a bigger rash on Gavin’s face and it stained several of his wash cloths and burp cloths. T

his Nipple Gel went on smoothly, did not leave a sticky greasy mess, what very little was not rapidly absorbed into my own skin actually helped get rid of the awful rash on Gavin’s face and I have since taken to applying it directly to his face because it actually has healing properties. Although lanolin is slightly antiseptic, it has no other medicinal benefits. Beauté de Maman Nipple Gel contains Calendula Officinalis which promotes healing of inflamed areas. This was very helpful to me since both my children had severe cases of thrush which caused my nipples and areolas to become very inflamed. The Gel was incredibly soothing and took away the inflammation. The other ingredients of Beauté de Maman Nipple Gel include Castor Seed Oil, Castor Oil, Soybean Oil and Vitamin E. Each of these ingredients are very moisturizing and soothing.

The only down sides to this product were that it had a very “oily” odor, it did not taste very good either and at around $16.00 for 1 ounce it was a bit pricier than I would prefer to pay for it. The product also stated that it would not stain your clothing but I spread some on an old t-shi

rt, washed it and it did indeed leave a stain. I did notice that when using lanolin, my son would balk at latching on but did not when I used the Nipple Gel, so I’m sure it tasted better to him and the odor is not nearly as bad as that from Lanolin.

All in all this is definitely a product I would recommend to a friend and already have to 3 mothers of newborns and 5 more that are expecting soon.
